Aden Perri has problems.
The last day of school his girlfriend calls it quits.
His friends disappear.
His mon buys a dog.
Aden hates dogs.
And his new job titles are Garbage Collector and Toilet Scrubber.
Aden’s ready to barricade himself in his room until school starts back up in the fall, but his parents won’t allow it.

His father drags him out of the house and takes Aden to Beaver Lake. Handing him a bucket and a mop, his dad sends him off to clean toilets. The campers give the poor boy amused looks as he picks up after him.

All but one. One very strange barefoot boy who Aden will never understand. But the boy makes it bearable, so he’ll let him stick around. It’s not like Titus is going to give Aden a choice anyways.
