Cedric strives to be something great; like a guardian, protector of the goddess’s elect, or maybe a member of the elite forces. Anything as long as it is a career soldier; someone that people look up to and respect.

His results place him as an ordinary civil soldier. Cedric just isn’t very smart, or skilled in a fight. He’s not even a fast swimmer. He does have his strength, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Just average, perfect for fishing.

The Moon Goddess, who looks over the people of Malana, sees something else. As the treasure every able male is trained to protect is not an object placed upon a pedestal, but a person. A very special person, who holds the gifts of the sea. They’re the last line of defense to fight back the land dwellers from sinking the city, and someone Cedric would willingly die for.
